New process 435 shifter removal

Post by Fordfool »

I am ready tro pull the cab off, but cannot figure out how to remove the shifter handle. There are 2 pins, one on each side of the shifter, but they would turn, but not unscrew and I couldn't pull them. How do remove this from the np 435? :hmm:

Thanks guys

The metal sleeve that holds the shifter in has notches that slid over thos pins you are looking at. You push it down and rotate it counter clockwise to release it. Sometimes you can't get it to rotate with just your fingers and need to use a screwdriver and a hammer to tap it around. If you still can't savvy what I have said, let me know and I'll go pull one out and show you some pictures.

Hey, thanks again! I got it out this morning. It was difficult to push down AND turn it at the same time, but I had a screwdriver that fid perfectly between the top of the pushdown and the dash. Just wedged it in carefully as not to bend the dash and then pushed down the ring and turned. Knowledge is power!

Make sure you stuff a rag in the shift tower so no FOD gets down the hole.
