I got a former fuel injected lincoln and installed a duraspark ignition set up in it but i didnt do a ballast resister on the coil what kind of a vehicle has them and where at. i did that swap on my bump using the same pieces but using the resistance wire on the coil so i dont know the coil does get hot if i leave power to it do any of yall know of a wire that has any resistance i think it was a tbi set up if that helps :cry: :help: :?
if its fixed break it again red white and ford blue the only up hill thats good is the one you are going down

i was going to post a dura spark question myself this morning. mine was going to ask how to hook it up. because i forgot what i had read. i think i might do a search myself. i took this one out of a bumpside and i don't remember any wierd wiring to and from it. the cab harness was cut into as far as i remember though. so the resistance wire to the coil was still on it uncut.

mid 70s daimlerchrysler have a ballast resister, I had to put one on a IH

Pretty much any auto parts store should carry a generic ballast resistor. I think I paid 14 or 15 bucks for the one on my truck.

why not change over to a TFI coil & eliminate the resistor?

in it how do you do it just wire it up to a live keyed wire or what
if its fixed break it again red white and ford blue the only up hill thats good is the one you are going down
