Wiper upgrade
The Truck Shop at Truckandcarshop.com shows to have an intermitent Wiper switch for the 73-79s which is what is needed to do this upgrade.

Re: Wiper upgrade
Actually, it is not only the switch, but you also need the "black box" which is wired in-line. The Black Box is what makes this thing work. I didn't look it up at the site you suggested but I'm sure they are extremely "pricey! One of our members here was selling the complete units, (used) for $15 plus about $5 for shipping to most U.S. locations. I got one and it works perfectly. Do a Search in the Interior section for "Interval Wipers" and you will probably find it. He may have more...Good Luck!
What ever happened to the age-old practice of just "Minding Your Own Business?"

Re: Wiper upgrade
Thanks Motordog,
I skimmed over the part in the Fordification writeup about where to mount the relay. At least I found the switch.
I'll look into finding the post about it.
I am still wondering about Truckandcarshop.com though.

Re: Wiper upgrade
I have a picture of what Truckandcarshop.com offers below.
MotorDog is correct you will need the black box for it to work.
Auto Zone has the same switch for $43.99 / Duralast #SW1013
Advanced Auto Parts has it for $53.99 / BWD #S3579
Rock Auto $55.79 / Airtex #1S1020
Your best bet is to find a late 70's - late 80's Ford truck in a junk yard and pull the switch and box. 5 minutes and $5 - $10 later your all set.

Re: Wiper upgrade
I just checked the link in the writeup to Ebay. There are currently 4 listed for about $30. Thanks.

Re: Wiper upgrade
You can use the ones up to mid 90's... You just have to move 2 wires around (they are for the washer). The earlier ones(early - mid 70's) are a direct plug in.
Hit the Junkyard and look for the early 90's Eddie Bauer Broncos... Look for the red connector and you will know you have the right one.
Get the box and the switch.
Usually run about $10 at the JY for the pair.
hth,
eric

Re: Wiper upgrade
i got one from a 90's bronco. i just moved the wire in the plug it was very easy. i found a torino switch on ebay. itlooks similar but i dont knowif it would work. it is at 3.99 right now. with one bidder. without the wiring and the box it is kind of useless though even if its the right switch.

Re: Wiper upgrade
I have moved/repaired the wires in factory plugs before so should be easy.71PA_Highboy wrote:... You just have to move 2 wires around (they are for the washer).
Now if I just knew which wires...
