bucket seats

i have a 1972 f100 and i would to put bucket seats in the truck. i saw on fordification that 85 to 95 seats will fit. then someone said you could use seats out of a bronco. he said a van seats were to high. so could someone give me some input . thanks.

I put bronco 2 buckets in mine, I had to fab some brackets and redrill holes. But i didnt like the look so I put back the bench. If you want my buckets 50 for the pair and shipping.

i just put 98 leather power buckets in mine. had to make a bracket to turn 2 buckets into 1 bench. i kept it as low as i could, but still find the seat is too high. and the back is too tall for me. it rubs above the back window. wouldn't be a problem but i'm 6'4 and it's a little snug. but it's still 100% better thank the old bench.
i would try to find either a mustang set, or mabye the bronco and see.

bucket seats:
1. find seats you like.
2. remove the old seat tracks both from your old seat and the new seat. put the old seat tracks on the new seat.
3. install the new seat with the old tracks into your truck.
bucket seat:
1. you will need extra holes in the floors to bolt in bucket seats.
2. you will also need a set of seat tracks for each seat.
3. installing nonfactory brackets in your truck will require the proper height, forward and back spacing in the cab as well as side to side spacing in the cab to center your self in front of the steering wheel.
this is the most advise i could give anyone. this is the way to do it. unless you would rather just use a milk crate of course. if there is any other way please post about how its done.

i made one large bracket that turned the buckets into a large bench. mounted using the original holes, plus 1 on the inside or each seat. i also put one mount near the hump so when i find a middle seat or armrest there's something under it.
was $25 in material and a few hours work.

I just put van seats in my 70 and all I did was get them where I liked them and just driled new holes in the floor.

I used seats out of a '97 Dodge Intrepid, think it was $40 at a junkyard and a custom built console. A few new holes / spacers/brackets and you get what you see below. The pic was taken when my truck was still a 2wd.

I put in white leather 6 way power seats from a late 70's Lincoln. I made a console for the 8" gap in the center, and moved the switch for the power adjustments from the Lincoln door panels to the lower outside seat mount. Really comfortable and the power adjustments are nice. I had to custom make the brackets and drill a couple holes in the center.

Those look real good in there and comfy too... I like low back buckets a lot better than hi-back ones.
It looks like you gained some tummy room over the bench...
