Aux. tank wiring short

Post by ionlyswingping »

Hi Guys,
My sending unit is good. I tested the resistance on my meter. My gauge works. I used a battery through the circuit board to test it. I've got the dash mount sending unit selector. All my other dash units NOW work including lights. I just don't have alot of experience with wiring. I think it has to be a broken wire. is there anything I my have overlooked? Does anyone who my have torn one of these trucks down know how the wire is routed?

I'm just tired of keeping a 2 gal. can with me always.
Thanks.

the aux tank under the bed inside of the frame rail has a ground wire from it to the fram right off of the sending unit. it also has anothjer orange wire goign from it up to the dash wiring. it coudl be the ground or it coul dbe the connection to the sending unit or the wiring under the dash. here is alink to the wiring diagrams if you want to trace that wire all the way to the switch and then to the guage. www.fordification.com/wiring.htm
