Sublime 69 update
Hey guys, well we're getting closer, but still got work to do. So far, 302/C4 with BBK shorties, Factory alu. intake, B&M floor shift, Edelbrock 600, Dura Spark, power brakes and steering, moved gas tank, frenched antenna, flipped shackels/cut coils, re-worked interior (buckets,CD/speakers,carpet etc.), new bed wood, Cragar V5's, and a front bumper (cut and welded) out back. It's been about two years of weekends all done in the back yard or garage by me. The truck belonged to my wife's uncle, he passed away, his wife gave me the truck and said finish it or trash it I can't watch it waste away any longer. I've still got to do a headliner, rebuild the tail gate, replace the 302 (got one on the engine stand as we speak). Here are some pics to check out, and a big thank you to all of you for your input and help so far........Rick / 56Aero

Like where your power intennae is. Saw one one a truck build show one time that put dual power intennae there. That has always stuck with me as a cool feature. Single is good also.

Here's a couple of before pics. Also the color is Fine Sublime, used on the Saturn Vue. Notice the yellow paint on the fire wall, this was a NC state DOT truck, the sales receipt was in the glove box. Thanks again to all.........Rick

Cool deal. Only question on the frenched antenna is does tht area drain well? Looks like a spot that will hold water pretty bad.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

Re: Sublime 69 update
The tube is just a section of tail pipe, 2 1/2" if my memory serves me right. Weld a flat piece of steel to the bottom, then a two or three inch piece of steel brake line goes in the steel bottom. A rubber drain tube runs through the bottom of the cab. The antenna mounts in the plate, and your done. I caulked all the welds too. Then cut, fit and fill the top side, weld a small bracket near the bottom, and your done. Google how to french an antenna, thats where I found the info, with drawings....Rick

Nice truck, can I get a better pic of what you did with the Grille? Of how you attached the hood emblem to it that is.

Cool figured you have a drainage solution just ain't obvious from an external view point.
Wantring to french in a power antenna on the front of mine, but more flush mounted.

Re: Sublime 69 update
The studs in the back of the emblem were missing, I made some new ones from threaded rod 1/4-20 that were long enough to go between the "slats" of the grill and allow a short section of bed floor strips to fit over the studs. Then lock washers and nuts hold it together. The bed strips fit perfect on the back of the grill to hold the emblem in place, but some light steel could be used as well. It has rained here all week end, I'll try to take a pic and post it this afternoon.FormerMarine1981 wrote:Nice truck, can I get a better pic of what you did with the Grille?
