wiring harness

Post by dlhngrs »

Does anyone have a practical solution for grommets to pass wiring harness through the fire wall? I am restoring a 1969 F100 and would like a way to replace the grommets in the fire wall. The old one, for the major wiring harness, seem to have been molded to the wires. After 40 years they are very brittle and discolored. ppreciate any help.

i have seen rubber insulators for wires to pass through to protect them from metal rubbing into the wires. so i woudl think they are available. buti dont know where to start looking for them. maybe from a electrical place that sells wiring to contractors. maybe radio shack. places liek that. or even the places that sellign aftermarket wiring for our trucks. ron fransis; painless and others.

Local hardware store, Lowes/Homer Deopt.... Look in the electrical section, with the small terminals, etc.
