Ash tray width

I need a favor, I need to know how wide the ash tray is on our trucks. I would measure my own but my truck is 4 hours away at the paint shop. The reason I am asking is I have filled the hole in where the ash tray goes and want to put in its place a clock from dakota digital to match my digital dash. I hope it will fit.

Just went out and measured my '71; ashtray itself is 3"w x 4 3/4" high opening is slightly larger at about 3 1/4 x 4 7/8 i used a small tape measure so these aren't aerospace tolerances. I hope this helps you out.
