wiper switch thread lenght
i am having a problem with putting the wiper switch back into the dash of a 69 cab. i have three wiper switches. i think they all came out of 70-72 trucks. is the threads on the 67-69 switches longer? or is the 67-69 dash indented place deeper? i cant not get enough threads through the dash hole to get the bezel and the nut to go onto the wiper switch. i have tried all 3 switches. and all of the bezels are the same from 68-72. i have 4 bezels one of them is a 69 bezel.the one in this pic looks the same as the one i have here. as far as depth goes. the only factor i am adding is the woodgrain aluminum panel over that. but that piece is so thin it can be stoping it from fitting together. i already considered that.

Re: wiper switch thread lenght
I don't believe there is a difference FORDMAN, when my wipers weren't working i got a delay setup and a standard from junkyardthey both seemed to fit right, my cab was a 67. However when i went to actually attach switch and bezel, standard one (delay one was bad) i almost gave up, it seemed like it would start threading and then just stop. I think it took me half an hour to get it just right to thread all the way, gotta hold your mouth just so...and use the right combination of expletives i think : )

Hey Fordman,
Check to see if there is an adjustment nut on the shaft. I think they all had one... It should be a 3/8 thin flat nut...

Re: wiper switch thread lenght
i got back down to that truck yesterday. and there is no adjustment or washer on the switch to move it seems that it is just goign to be a tight fit to get the nut started i guess. i didnt have any tools with me so i couldnt get the work done.

Hey Fordman...
I have the instrument panel out right now on my '68 so I can that out for ya really easy...
hmmm ... crap I just remembered, I installed an intermittent wiper switch so I don;t know if that would help or not.
I don't think that are are any differences between the thread length differences between stock '68-'72 switches.
