Wire harness

Post by hotrod ford »

since i'm using my 67 as a parts truck for my 71 i will be using the whole wire harness as well. there should not be a reason why just can't replace the 71's with the 67 is there? i will be using a f600 gauge cluster as well.

'67 is one year only not a bad thing unless it is a early version like mine then there are some differences i don't know about the 600 cluster

i wouldn't think it would matter since i will be using it instead of the 71 wire harness. i'm just making sure if i would have to make any additional holes or what ever mods to the cab or frame to install it. will i need to extend or mod the wire harness in any way? i will be using the light housings from the 67 so that shouldn't be a problem either.

one thing i can think of with the 67 wiring harness. the heater control power wire coem off of the wiper switch. it wont be used the same way in your 71. i am in the process of puttign a 67 wirng harness back in my 67. it is slightly different than the 68-72 so i cant remember how to hook up a few of the small wires liek the dome like and gas gauge wire from the tank. plus the power fo rthe wipers comes from a different place on the 67 harness. it canbe done. its just a few small mods. one other thing the 67 brake wire switch plug is different on the 67 harness. so that will have to be changed with the 71 plug. just remove the connectors and swap them. why have more cut wires than you need?
