blinking pilot light for the hazard switch
i have a 69 cab that i am trying to use a 70 wiring harness and 70 hazard switch in. along withthe lower alumniunm woodgrain covered plate for the switches below the instrument cluster. well the switch wont fit into a 69 cab hole in the dash because the bezel wont go down into the hole and let me screw on the nut to hold the switch into. so i had a bracket. with a red light lens in it. and a sceond hole that could be drilled out and mounted to the lower dash under the cigar lighter just liek the factory a/c hazard switches are on the 68 and 69 toggle type switches. in order to make the bracket and red light look like it is suppose to do something i thought about running a lead from the hazard switch to a light bulb behind the red lens.. to do this would i just make a jumper wire from one of the wires going out to the front or rear lights on the truck? i think it would work if i am correct. or would i have to run the jumper wire from the flasher unit to that light?

If you wire it in with one of the front wires then it will flash with that corresponding turn signal, same deal on the rear it will come on when you hit the brakes... Unless you put a diode on the line you tap into so that the power wont back feed... If you hook it up to the flasher directly it will/might be enough load on the flasher to make it work this light all the time.

so there would be no way without a diode to make it blink on with only the flashersblinking. and not the turn signals also?
