Emergency Warning Flasher
I see from previous posts that if my emergency lights and brake lights are not working and I have already replaced the fuse, that I need to check the Emergency Warning Flasher. Is that located under the dash like the turn signal flasher?

Yes it is. If it is in its original spot it will be in a cradle attached to the sheetmetal that is directly behind your instrument cluster. if it isn't it will be hanging loose in that area closest to the radio side of the cluster.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

I thought the wiring diagram shows the brake lights gets its power through the emergency flasher can?

i was thinking of my 72 harness i have layed out in the other room. the power to the brake light come off of the fuse box and goes through the brake light switch in that harness i think.

Re: Emergency Warning Flasher
The power for the "brake lights" does not go through the flasher... If you look at this diagram http://www.fordification.com/images/sch ... _81-85.jpg the power from the fuse box (wire 383) goes to the flasher but this same wire powers (splits off as) wire 284 to the brake light switch and then to the turn signal flasher. Only wire 385 continues "Through" the flasher to the emergency switch.
This wire 383 from the fuse panel could be bad at the fuse panel or the fuse could be bad or not making good contact with the fuse holder...
