Hey 57fordf100,

hmmmm that's an interesting one...
When you turn on the headlights do the lights actually blink or do they just light up?
I'm trying toi think od where the circuits would cross and activate them both.
The tail lights are connected to the headlights at the switch, the turn signals converge with the tail lights and brake lights at the turn signal switch.
Do the wires look like they've been hacked up by a PO, or are they pretty much intact?
Do you have a wiring schematic for your truck? If not, you can probably find one at the library and make copies.
The only rig I've not been able to find info at the library on was my '68 Ford/Bluebird bus.
Since the chassis, running gear, and major electrical are all '68 Ford F-500... my set of '68 Ford shop manuals cover it as well... but anything that is specifically Bluebird bus is pretty much non-exitant.
Not even Bluebird Coach has info on anything of theirs that far back.
You may have have to replace both the headlight switch and turn signal switch.
If you need to get a new turn signal switch the best place to get them is a company called Shee-Mar, (that's who Ford get' theirs from and they are about 2/3 the price of the Ford dealer.
Just Google them for their contact info.
The switch in my bus was broken into 3 pieces.. I contacted Shee-Mar and emailed them a couple of pics of my switch They hooked me up for $89.00 delivered... Ford wanted $116.00 plus shipping and handling for exactly the same switch.
Hope that helps...

do the bulbs have one element or two elements? is it an 1156 or and 1157 bulb? if its a dual element bulb you can do it. if its a single element bulb it will be harder to do. im not sure i could explain how to do it. but i know if it were in front of me i could do it. basically you have to kill the power to the bulb at the time the headlights come on. just like or truck do. soem sort of switch woul dbe needed to do this and not cut off all the power. if it were a dual element bulb. a single element bulb. i am unsure how the wires would have to be rerouted or switched.
