Hey Fordman...

I think they do, but not 100% sure...
Do you have access to nd F600 cab that you could take some pics of???
I haven't seen one around these parts that I can look at...
I'm thinking that the 100-350 and the 500 and up cabs are identical.
i know that they are set up different, but I think that there are punch out panels on the cabs so they can be used for whatever application they are needed.

Yeah... way cool

i have yet to find an F600 in a wrecking yard around here...
I did find an F500, which is basically what my bus is with a bus body sitting on it. (a B500)
Behind the bus dash is an F500 dash as well... just no instrument panel or padding.
It was beat up and rusted out, there wasn't a single part that I could use on my bus.
I was hoping to find a vacuume booster and master cylinder that I could have refurbished, but the bus one is different... I think the MC is the same, but the bus has a frame mounted booster, where the truck has a firewall mounted one like a pickup.
if my theory is correct, the firewall should be marked in some way so a punch could be lined up to punch out the hole for the pick style steering column.
It seems like when I pulled the '71 cab off the frame, there lines on the bottom that looked like the could be used to line up a punch to knock out a hole for the big truck style steering column. that goes through the front part of the floor pan instead of the firewall...
I may have been imagining things, but it makes perfect sense to set them up that way... especial since it was Ford that first used interchangable parts and the assembly line process.

Yeah, they are pretty much the same except for weight rating like an F100 and an F250.

Somewhere, I have a list of the 5th generation medium/heavy duty trucks and their weight ratings, but I can't seem to find it.
Other than the obvious suspension and frame differences, the bodies of the F500 and up are all the same...
F350 = 1 ton
F500 = 1 1/2 ton
F600 = 2 ton

After that, I can't rememebr what the numbers are or what the weight ratings are... and of course, there are multiple models of each rating jusdt like the F100's - 350's.
