Heater blower motor, correct?

Most came as a two-speed...does your switch have a high and low setting? And if so, do they both work? There's a resistor mounted on the back of the heater box that controls the speed, it's possible yours needs replaced. It's also very possible you simply have 40 years worth of dust and garbage inside the blower, and so by removing the motor, blowing it out and giving it a couple squirts of oil, you might remedy the situation.

Dont get any oil inside the motor. just on the shaft near the end bushings. most electrtic mototrs have a bushing or bearings at each end shaft to keep the shaft spinning freely on an even basis. oil inside of the housing could short out the motor or make it collect dirt hair and all kind of stuff. then it will get even worse as far as dirt buildup.

is the resistor on the back that two side ways and side by side spades?

i left mine unhooked and only have one speed. high only works the slower speed.

yes that is the resistor back there. careful unplugging and plugging them in. they break pretty easily.
