inventing soemthing only a teenager would like
ok so if you had a bunch of horns 5 or 6 of them screwed down to a board. and put that in your truck. would the factory relay handle that many. what does the relay do exactly. i havent even looked it up in a long time. would the horns be loud and obnoxious enough for a teenager to like?

Would that teen be a girl or a boy?

1. A relay is an electrically activated switch.
Horns take a lot of power (current/amps) if you ran all the powr through the horn button or steering column it would get hot and quickly burn out the small wires. Instead a small amount of power is run thru the horn button just to power a small coil which closes two contacts and acts like a big heavy switch to send power to the horn(s)
2. Horns put out a musical note. Horns are tuned to sound at a specific frequency of vibrations. If a vehicle is equipped with 2 or more horns they must be tuned to compliment each other or it just sounds foul!
Imagine a piano. If you push the right keys at the right time the sound is pretty and harmonous. However, if your cat walks across the keys randomly, or a child just hits keys with no pattern the frequency of the many different vibrations 'clashes' and the sound is perceived as annoying.
Sounding multiple unmatched horns is the aucoustical equivalent of using up every left over color of paint that happens to be in your shed to add a few brush strokes of each color to repaint your truck. YUCK!

If they are quality horns they will have a screw on the side that acts as a tuner. You can tighten or loosen the screw to change the pitch.
As for wiring the horns, I'd use one horn relay per pair of horns. Follow any horn circuit diagram and where the wire runs to the relay, branch it off to all of your relays.
