Sam I Am wrote:My truck had speakers in the door panels as pictured above, but the windows wouldn't roll all the way down.
I took them out and set them in the floor for now.

If you plan to go that route, make sure the speakers you select for that location don't mount too deep or they will interfere with window operation.
i had the same problem but i made a spacer for the door panel now it works great

you can also go to a place that installs stereos and ask them if they have any spacers kickin around they might even just give them to ya

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Thats what happened to me but my speakers came with spacers so I had to put those in. They stick out a bit but not much, just enough so the window clears the magnet.

If you put the speakers too far up that will happen. Mount then as far down without hitting the door metal itself and you shouldn't have a problem. I have full size 6x9 infinidy's in mine. Before that had regular ol 6x9 Pioneers in there. No problems then either.

This is exactly what I did, I'll be putting a removable system on my truck. :hmm: My original AM radio and speaker will be working. I've already tried the wedge 6x9 box enclosures tucked behind my legs under the seat, with some SoundStream SPL 6x9's Amped of course.
That was more than enough to hear a block away. This time I'll be adding a pair of 12's SPL's wraped in black vinyal enclosures just for some bass behind the seat, those will also be removable. I'll also have made a removable console for the head unit probably add some tweeters to that. With all the sound deadener I put in the whole truck, I know that I won't be dissapointed, because it won't sound like an empty can. I'll post the pictures next year

6x9's and a regular Sony Explode cd player is plenty enough for me. I don't want to make people 1 mile away listen to my music. I get tired enough listening to other people's music from a mile away.
One of my pet projects is finding a way to make them dang boom box cars that you hear 10 minutes before you see them shut down. I hate them inconsiderate people. I'll get rich when I figure a way to quiet them. lol
You did a nice job on the inside of your truck sport71
