dual battery setup

okay i plan on a puting a light bar and a good stereo on my bump and i hate having dead batteries so i plan on going to a dual batterty setup i also want upgrde the alternator should i buy a higher amp one or take it to an alternator shop and have them get more amps out of it?

what yall think good idea or is it pointless i know are truck dont take much juice out of battery in stock form :fr:

how many amps will the light bar use and how much will you be using it? If you are not going to be drawing large amps often, or a small amount all the time I wouldn't do anything different. If this is something you are going to do a lot while its running then you really need to up the alternator otherwise you will just kill 2 batteries instead of 1.

well im not sure i havent deiced what light bar to use yet i think it may get used quite a bit im constanlly going up and down maple canyon and ill probally use it every night i go up and down that road i guess your right runnng two batteries dead would suck i think i will just the up the alternator and keep running my great big interstate

& your stock alternator wont last long trying to keep up with 2 batteries. I think you would be better off going with a good top end battery & a high amp alternator :thup:
