windshield mirror removal

Post by fordman »

how do you get the part that glues to the windhsield off. i need to save the ball for the mirror socket. i dont want to buy a new ball. i doubt anyone sells just the ball anyway. do they make a glue softer or remover of some sort? the ones that slide on are sold. usually with new glue packets. but not the ball type.

You could try a pair of pliers on it and twist it off.

Good info. I gotta change mine to use the maplight rearview. Now I got someone else saying my theory of razor knifing will work. Cool.
