f-600 cluster

Post by fitzwell »

So..last night, i was digging in the pile of stuff for my 68 shortbed & came across the inst.panel/cluster i plan to use. It was kinda nasty, so i decided to try & clean it up a bit & see if i could get the surface rust off. Crappy cell phone pic, but you get the idea. I have a Sun Super II to mount in the blank hole on the right.

Whaddya thnk??

Totally crappy. You shouldn't mess with 30-something-year-old parts. Send it to me and get yourself a nice new panel. :P

That's exactly what I have to go in my '70 SC. Yours looks great too.

Question: I unscrewed the speedo castle nut from the rear of my current original dash cluster, yet my speedo cable is still attached. Is there a springclip that locks it in there, or do I need to "finesse" that cable out of there? My cable is pretty dry too and would need to be lubed prior to reinstallation.

Thanks for the help guys....

no spring clip/retainer on mine. i'd guess a little "friendly persuasion" would get it to move.
