For what it is worth, instead of turning the bezel nut, I turned the switch itself. After removing the knob stem, I disconnected the wiring plug and turned the switch itself counterclockwise while holding the bezel nut with my homemade tool. Worked okay, both for removal and re-installation.
The tool you show would work, as would the one I ordered, if the diameter is right.
