Does anyone have a clear picture or diagram of how the alternator wiring is connected?
There were only 3 posts hooked up when I removed the alternator. I'm sure about the Bat post and post right next to Bat. There are two other posts: Gnd and Sta. There are actually two wires hooked up to the Gnd post. One is definetly a ground since it connects to the block but I'm not sure what the other wire is? The confusion is that there is a post called Sta. This not one of the three post that had a wire hooked to it. Is it possible that the 2nd wire on the Gnd post is the wire that should go on Sta? Is Sta for Starter?

Re: Alternator Wiring
http://www.fordification.com/tech/wirin ... arging.jpg this is for the 65 amp alt and a field relay on the fender someplace. i have never seen a field relay on one of these trucks. http://www.fordification.com/tech/wirin ... master.jpg this one is from the 70 diagram with gauges. this is how i have seen all trucks hooked up that i have dealt with. no field relay at all.
