Alternator Wiring

Post by 68FORDJBM »

Does anyone have a clear picture or diagram of how the alternator wiring is connected?

There were only 3 posts hooked up when I removed the alternator. I'm sure about the Bat post and post right next to Bat. There are two other posts: Gnd and Sta. There are actually two wires hooked up to the Gnd post. One is definetly a ground since it connects to the block but I'm not sure what the other wire is? The confusion is that there is a post called Sta. This not one of the three post that had a wire hooked to it. Is it possible that the 2nd wire on the Gnd post is the wire that should go on Sta? Is Sta for Starter?
