Keith, thanks for that illustration. My factory service manual doesn't show that. I was pretty sure it was adjustable, just wasn't exactly sure how to do it.

Wouldn't it be safe to assume that a new motor would have the park switch adjusted correctly? Or at least come with some sort of instuctions for setting the park switch adjustment within the motor?
If it's a brand new motor, and there aren't any instructions included, I'd take it back and talk to them about it before opening it up. It may or may not void the warranty, and should have been fully tested at the factory.

Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???

That's not an oil leak :nono: That's SWEAT from all that HORSEPOWER!!

If you do have to replace the switch, look into getting one that will give you intermittent wipers. You can use one from the '73-'79 trucks with a small modification. I got mine from ebay for about $35-$40 (already modified)for my '68. That's some of the best money I've spent on the truck.

Here is some info for you use to check out the wiper switch (see images below)
Some info: the Orange/white striped wire is the power to the switch and then it goes out of the switch to the wiper motor. Of the 4 wires going to the motor the Red should be hot (12V) all the time, the Blue when in High Speed, the White in Low Speed and the Black/white striped will have power intermittently depending on the position of the "park switch" in the motor. If you don't have power on the Red wire all the time from the switch then the switch is bad as there is a circuit breaker built into the switch and it is not letting the power get out (common problem when the switch goes bad)...
FYI to test the motor you have to ground the motor and then apply power to either the Blue or White wire and it should work, you wont be able to turn the motor over by hand very easy (if at all) as it is a gear reduction motor. :2cents:

Although 68FORDJBM has his problem fixed I have added my information above to help others in trouble shooting the same problem.

68FORDJBM and to others; PLEASE keep using the Original Post/Topic to continue working on a problem or give updates, I merged the 3 Topics related to this issue.

Thunderfoot, thanks for the diagram, very useful! I returned the motor and have new one ready to instal, but it may be a while as I decided to replace the gaskets on the spindles. Good move because the diverside spindle bolts were so bad that it didn't take much to break them off when trying to remove so now I need to get the broken bolts out of there before I move on.
