New Arm Rest Mod Found
i went to the junkyard today and a newer van was there. it had just came in. i went over to look for parts or whatever. change in the seat and so forth. one of the first things i look at in the vans is the instrument clusters and the arm rests and door handles. well this being a 92 and up van it had none of the parts we could use fo rour truck. except i noticed the drivers arm rest was missing. but i also noticed the mounting brackets and botls were in the same place and of the same kind we use. so i looked at the passenger side arm rest. it was actually a different style. but i thougth (but havent confirmed this yet) that the newer style arm rests would bolt into our trucks. i will remove the passenger arm rest tomorrow and bring it home for some photo comparisions of a arm rest i have here. as well i will see if it will bolt to the door of my 71. i couldn't find any pics of them on ebay. but they look similar to the 73-79 ford truck arm rests but they are not just a cap. they are a full arm rest. below i have added a picture of the 73-79 arm rests.

Re: New Arm Rest Mod Found
well it may work and it may not. i have posted some pics here as a comparison. the 92 up van arm rest bolt holes are in the same place as far as lining up with spacing. but the back bolt hole doesnt offset in the pattern enough to make it work exactly. but it might work if you didnt use the center hole. but it could work if you forced it to work. i havent tried it yet. it is way to cold to go outside.

Re: New Arm Rest Mod Found
The newer style armrests have angled holes for the screws & the original style is straight in. Looks like it to me anyways.

Re: New Arm Rest Mod Found
sort of. the gray arm rest has indentations where the botls go through. so that makes up for it. they still use the same bolts and clips our trucks use.

I think it has to be a bottom of the line van. Like a cargo van. Here is the pic in my cat. If anyone needs a part number for anything 1980 and up, or a pic of anything 1980 and up just let me know.
