shifter collar opinions

Post by rdaniel911 »

Any one with expericane on the different shift collars offered by the vendors. It seems there is a lot of difference in some pricing but they all look the same.

Which shift collar do you need?

Thanks for the list, I thought of buying NOS, and have found a couple, but having been around these trucks all my life, I know even the original's tend to wear where the shifter pin goes through it, I didn't know if someone had produced a better one or if NOS was still the best available.

Yeah, kind of figure NOS is better there. Mine lasted for around 300,000 miles before I went to an automatic. It was still in perfect working order when I removed it. Wonder how many times that thing had made it motions? I shifted pretty easy though. My dad, who gave me the truck was a truck driver and he taught me to drive it pretty easy on the mechanics

I got lucky, got a NOS one in it's original box with the hardware for $25 on Ebay. Now for the mirrors and hood letters.
