The relay for Camper Special

I am new to this site.. thanks to the guys at fordtrucks.com for hookin me up the link. I need more wiring information with regards to the camper special wiring for 69F250. more specifically the relay up under the dash behind the glove box. I have pulled all the wiring diagrams from the site and did not see any reference to this relay.. problem is as soon as I connect power to the battery this relay clicks on and continually drains power from the battery even with the key off and all switches off. having said this the front end if the truck has been removed and wiring harnesses to the lights have all been removed on the front. now the back trailer wiring pigtail looks like a bindle wires commin into the box has been snipped. I have just barely begun to look into this truck but would like to make sure i have all the information up front so that when I do dive in and start putting stuff together I am not left in the dark.

the relay under the glove box is for roof top lights. if you dont have any of those lights it may be a wire grounding out to soemthing. http://www.fordification.com/tech/wirin ... arkers.jpg

That Relay should only turn on when the park lights / head lights are turned on. It gets its signal to turn on from the tail lights. If it is turning on with the battery power then sounds like possibly the relay is wired wrong.

seems to have some pretty large wires comin out of it for roof lights? I think the wires are a number 8 ... is there a schematic showing this relay and how it is wired in? or is this a dealer added on thing that has no documentation? I just want to be fully prepared with the info when I go to put this old gurl back together.

I didn't catch the drawing showing it on the F350.. looks like it I will run with that until probably march or april time frame when I get at this one.

The relay I had on my truck ran to the large multi conductor cable under the truck to the rear trailer plug.

i posted diagrams for what i could find in my book and one the site. niether my book or the diagrams have anything else on this. my book is a 69 book.
