Re: Alternator Wiring
Sorry I took wrong notes. Those are the colors I have: Red, Orange, Yellow with Black and Black with Brown. I don't know where to connect those. I'll appreciate your help.

Thanks Fordman for your help. I did the check before posting, but it doesn't show colours, only numbers.

Re: Alternator Wiring
Always post what year your truck is, as it can help more with the correct answer...
Your wire colors don't jive with the wiring on our trucks...
The wire colors are:
Black = "B" or Bat (battery) connector on the alternator. This is the largest wire it runs to the battery terminal on the starter solenoid. This wire will also have a smaller Yellow wire that is spliced into it that goes to the Voltage Regulator.
Orange = "F" or "FLD" or Field connector on the alternator and goes the F connection on the Voltage Regulator.
Black/red stripe = "G" or "GRD" or Ground connector on the alternator and goes to the mounting bolt on the Voltage Regulator.
White/black stripe = "S" or "STA" or Stator connector on the alternator and goes to the S connection on the Voltage Regulator.
This diagram is close http://www.fordification.com/tech/wirin ... gauges.jpg but doesn't have the 4th wire (a lot of the earlier trucks don't have this White/black striped wire) and there is another mistake on this drawing in that the "B" and "F" on the alternator are not labeled good as they don't look right for the wires they connect to, use what I listed above.

Re: Alternator Wiring
yea my 67 wire colors didnt match the diagrams either. i thought it was all messed up so i got a different harness. it looks liek it is a factory harness. but soem of the connectors look like soem sort of aftermarket replacements. if you can lok at the number and then look at the chart it will show you the position of the factory wire colors. and then you can use the position to hook up your wires. forget colors when you do it. just look at what each end is hooked to to get it back to where it belongs.
oh the last thing i cna think of is that the (S) stator terminal on the alternator doesnt hook to the factory charging system.

Re: Alternator Wiring
Look what I got: 5 connectors in the alternator. I understand that I need use only three connections, right? But, why those two others? Look at the picture.

Re: Alternator Wiring
The one at the Top of your pic is the STA or Stator connection (not always use), the one on the lower left across from the ground is just the other mounting bolt for the diode plate inside the alternator = same as ground... = not used.
