headlight switch extra connectors
the headlight switch on these trucks have 8 spades that the headligth plug plugs over. on my 71 only 6 of those spade positions on the plug are used. 2 of them are left unused. when i was looking at the wiring diagrams. i saw the words aux and hdlp by the spades that may not be used . does this mean the spades are for adding other lights through that switch in those spade locations?

Re: headlight switch extra connectors
Look at the pic attached below...
The (A) connector is an Auxiliary connection that is tied into the Park light circuit breaker, this could be used for something else but it is HOT all the time even with the light switch off... This could have been used for something in older/other vehicles but not used in our trucks, it could have also been for an anther power input for the marker lights that was externally fused/circuit breakered...
The other unused connector in your case would be the (P) Park Light (front park lights) connector as the 70+ trucks don't have the front park lights separate from the marker/tail lights as they were wired into the (R) tail/running lights. That (P) connector is only HOT when in the Park light position, not in the headlight position.
