Need a ned battery tray

Post by la1031 »

I was looking to put in a new battery tray and am not a fan of the factory LMC type ford original style tray. Is anyone using a tray from another vehicle that might work well? I am not a fan of the billit or stainless stuff that summit has.

The Ford one mounts on the bottom and side. What could be better? What are you looking for? Nothing will fit without modification.

What part of Texas you in? I know a yard in the Azle/ Lake wWorth area that has a few truck and IIRC one or two decent battery trays.

the dentside battery trays are almost the same as ours. they just have an extra bolt hole that you can ignore if you want to. anything else i dk. are you wanting to relocate the battery? or is it you just dont like the way it holds the battery in the tray?

Does the auxiliary battery tray from a dent work also?

I ordered a replacement tray for my last truck from LMC. I do not like the extra metal tab that bolts to the beam looking part of the inner fender. I wanted a replacement tray that bolts through the bottom and has a standard wedge hold down or the old school 3 piece all thread hold down design.

I am from around San Antonio BTW. Woot Texas !

the original battery trays do also bolt to the inner fender on the bottom. if you dont care for the exta tab you coul cut it off i guess. butt he hold down deals should work with the threaded rods and top hold down.
