turn signal switch cam

Post by thebannister8 »

sorry...not quite sure what it's called...when i turn my blinker on and off the rod doesnt lock into place...all i have to do is start the truck and that will cause the rod to flop down and get the blinker going...i was looking at replacing the unit, but all i've seen is the whole unit with all the wires...i'm wondering if it's possible to only replace whatever it is the holds the rod up or down...i'm guessing some kind of cam

yes you can replace the cam only. but they sometimes are troublesome. you have to cut the wires off of the old cam and use butt connectors to hold the new wires together. they dont work very well. so everyone has electrical problems after they cut the wires and put them back together.

Yes, the arms on the cam is what holds it on and in place, you can get them at your local parts store usually in the Help section.

make sure your rear turn signals and brake lights work after changing to one of those. i have had problems in the past with the contacts not "contacting" properly and giving me some grief with the brake and t/s lights.
