Enine Paints

I will be having my engine rebuilt soon and have begun sanding and stripping the air cleaner. Im planning on having the entire engine repainted Ford Blue. Has anyone had any luck with any particular brand of high temp paints. I've run across VHT as well as Krylon high temps. Since im down to metal on the air cleaner, id like to prime it before painting, but I've yet to find a High Temp Primer. I'm also looking for a High temp Clear Coat. Anyone have any ideas or experiences to share?

i used some rattle can old ford blue on the air cleaner and valve covers... that picture was taken about 3 or 4 months ago and besides a little dirt they still look that way. ps I used rattle can primer too.

For spray can stuff, the Dupli Color Ceramic is the best.

their FORD Blue is actually "Light FORD blue" though and "Dark Ford Blue" is the correct stuff.

Powder coating would be the best. I know they have blue, but not sure if it is "Ford Blue".

if you have the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ im sure you could get Ford blue powder coat developed

Thats what I used. The version I used, which was the correct darker blue, was called "DE1621 OLD FORD BLUE". At the time I bought that can, they called the lighter ford blue, "NEW FORD BLUE". But there may be other variations... Anyway, if you can find the "DE 1621 OLD FORD BLUE", it's the correct shade. That number and name is on the bar code sticker. MK
