Custom Dash Panels

Post by ArizonaDan »

I like the look of dash panels without the pad. I'm looking for ideas and pictures for my '68.

What are some of the methods you have used to patch the dash pad holes? How about diffusers for the de-icer outlets?

As always pictures are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Why would you patch the defrost? You have to have those to pass inspection in my state. However, I did it on a 72 king cab, i took strips of metal and welded it under. Then i cut out a piece to fit inside the gap, and welded it than grinded. However you could just weld the piece on bottom and putty it.

I have cut out the vents from the old dash pad and they are ready for paint. The holes that hold the dash pad on I am going to cut out metel strips and weld them in.

i completely misunderstood this post earlier. i thought you were saying how do you patch the dash pad. not the bolt holes for the dash pad.
