80's delay switch into 67
After much searching and reading I think I have finally figured out my delay switch. I was confused because of the lime wire referred to in Keith's tutorial. Well my truck has a black/white wire that goes to the pump. So I just plugged it into the lone plug left open. Now I wont know if this works for awhile because my truck i in a million pieces. But I think it will. Here is the post that helped me out the best. I would have posted there but it wouldn't let me. Really old post in the archive.

(oh the switch I bought off ebay was supposedly a 79')

Yep, the original Bump wiring has a separate power wire for the washer pump and the newer switches use the same power as the wipers for the pump so one less wire/terminal used.

Wow... finally found this, but this REALLY confounded me last night, trying to figure out what to do with the orange/yellow+brown/green wire! I couldn't figure which one needed to plug in to the one available spade. I went with the orange/brown wire first, and it all worked but the washer pump. Then I realized I should go with the black/white to the black/white. Everything works! Glad I made the right call...
By the way, on the later ('87?) switches, the mounting bracket is different which makes it really more complicated to mount. I had to drill a hole in the column bracket...

you don't have to use the mounting bracket do you? or does the switch have to fit into the bracket a certain way? all of the switches i have got for my trucks are late 80's switches. which i have yet to install.

You have to mount the relay box somewhere... I don't know if you have to mount it or not, but I assume you need to... ??

Yes... only the bracket for the late-80s delays aren't the same as the one Keith has pictured. It makes them much more difficult to locate without drilling a hole. That worked fine, only I didn't leave myself much room to get my hand in there to reconnect the speedo cable. In retrospect, I should've located it higher. Something for another day, I guess...

why not put it on the backside or the drivers side. i always reach through from the passenger side for the speedo cable.

! I did put it on the driver's side... I couldn't get my hand in from the passenger side. Could have been the flasher clip that was in the way, though... I was in a hurry when I realized this.
One other thing is that on the '67s, the placement of the harness ground is in a different location than in Keith's tutorial pictures...

Re: 80's delay switch into 67
I got mine from a 90 and the bracket fit very nice. No need to drill any holes on my 72 but I'm not sure about a 67.

This is how/where I mounted mine. The hole was there allready, no need for me to drill one. I got it out of a 90 or 91 F150.

Re: 80's delay switch into 67
Nice... that would've been nice, but mine had a funky mounting bracket that had like a little tab that stuck out back in the direction fo the module, which made mounting awkwared. I've worked around it, but have no pictures. There was no such hole on my '67...

Re: 80's delay switch into 67
The black wire should match up with the black/white (67) or lime green (later) wire...
