1972 F-100 steering wheel horn bar button

Post by pickly »

I swapped out my steering wheel on my 72 F-100 automatic and replaced what I believe is a 70 or 71 steering wheel with the original 72 steering wheel with a horn bar. Got the steering wheel on and it fits nicely but i'm not sure what to do with one of the two wires that the horn bar have coming out of it. One is a push on terminal connector that goes on the terminal at the base of the steering wheel. The other is a "U" shaped clip that I can't figure out if it goes between an area so that when you press the horn bar it makes contact with itself and closes the circuit? Attached are photos of the new and old steering wheels.

It goes in one of the bolt wholes where you would attach a steering wheel puller.
