Back up wiring

I did replace my 3 speed transmission for one C6 automatic. How can I make the backup light work? Does anybody did this king of transmission exchange and could help me?

on the fender well just near the firewall is the wires that come out and go down to the old 3 spd switch. remove the switch and plug in a jumper wire like this one into the plug where the switch was at. the nss on the automatic column will work the back up light from there.

If the steering column gives you trouble it's also pretty easy to add the switch to the C-6 itself. It simply bolts onto the selector shaft (where the linkage is hooked up). The combination NSS and reverse light switch looks like this: http://www.fixya.com/cars/t2965642-look ... ety_switch
You can find them all over in junkyards, (I think new the switch is probably about $40.00)?

I just finished doing the transmission NSS. If you have the old C-6 you'll have to drill & tap the trans to mount the switch,then wire 2 wires for the reverse lights on the inner fender plug ,then the other 2 wires go to your NSS jumper plug under your dash. Hope this helps.
Note: predrill the tranny for the switch before install, very little room to get a drill in after the fact.

Now I got the transmission switch installed but it got 4 wires. I did the jumper at those wires in the steering column. The switch got 4 wires. In order to send power to the back up lights I only need to know which one have power when I put the lever in reverse.

the nss wire plug right in like this 1st picture to the plug up under the dash which will have loop plug liek the one in the second picture. if you are usinfg the transmounted nss you will have to figure out which one is for what. this is the best i can help. i havent played with the trans mounted switches. to knwo what wire is for power or what ever. maybe you could look up the wirign diagrams at http://www.fordification.net/tech/wiring.htm
