Hey guys, I have 3 questions for you knowledgeable guys.
#1 Are the gauges in our trucks (mine's a 72) supposed to be on with the Ignitions switch in the ACC position?
#2 What is that Grey/Yellow wire (the one that isn't marked in the background) for on this ignition switch pigtail? I know I'll have some extras since the switch on my truck only has 5 wires and this one has 8 or 9. It's out of a mid 80s Ford Van and I'm installing it in my truck.
#3 The wire that is marked 'Resistance Wire', Is that correct? Doesn't seem right to me because the two wires that are spliced together are cut before the splice on my pigtail and they are the same gauge and same material. Copper. But than again I'm no expert on resistance wire, don't even know what makes it resistance wire. The ones I've seen though are thinner, stiffer and not copper. Thanks in advance.
Found it on the web, It's not mine.

#1 Yes, the instrument panel will be on in ACC
#2
#3 for that short of a wire I doubt it... would have to check it out with an ohm meter to be sure...

Would a 80's van need a resistance wire? Shouldn't it have duraspark II?

I hadn't noticed that the original gauges where on in ACC and now with my new gauges I noticed they where on. Just wanted to make sure I hadn't wired something wrong. Thank you.Thunderfoot wrote:#1 Yes, the instrument panel will be on in ACC

That is what I thought as well. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't because I won't need it.
That helps a lot, thank you.knightfire83 wrote:Would a 80's van need a resistance wire? Shouldn't it have duraspark II?
