turn signal switch confusion
i'm not sure that i have the right turn signal switch...or if i do what the problem is...i bought the cam replacement kit pictured and soon realized that it's the wrong one...the instructions show another model that has no wires and goes on the outer part of the switch...here's what baffles me though...looking at the picture where i haven't taken it apart yet i see nothing that will catch the cam to keep it in place...i don't see that on the new pictured cam either...is something missing from my steering area...going deeper than that in the picture where i have taken it half apart i noticed that that portion of the turn signal switch is fixed...i.e. it is mounted to the steering column...the plastic rectangle part of the switch there isn't rectangle anymore because of the movement of the copper rectangle rod in it...where my turn rod is in the picture is as far down as it will go to turn left...if that was a true rectangle the rod wouldn't move at all...as it is now my rod has very limited movement but will activate the signals...but surely doesn't have full motion...it also doesn't " lock " into postion all the way up or down...can someone please describe for me or show me a picture of how there 3 on the tree signal switch looks and works...it doesn't add up to me what i have...thanks

Re: turn signal switch confusion
What you have is an Aftermarket replacement (one that was not made the factory way/specs) I haven't found anyplace to get parts for one of those types... The Turn Signal Switch (TSS) will be the same regardless of Automatic or 3 speed shift, etc... You can try bending those springs up a bit and see if you can get it working, otherwise you will have to replace the whole TSS.
Here is the thread on the other member who had the same switch as yours and you will see the pics of mine torn apart in it (factory style one). http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... &hilit=cam

If it Looks good and Works good then it's ok by me. Everything has its issues from time to time...
