Re: Steering wheel ideas
That is a nice cupholder you've got there 72Highboy. By the way, what kind of turn signal lever do you have? Is it for Cruise Control? Is that the stock column or is it some sort of custom arrangement?
Don't mean to highjack this thread but I just noticed that.

Re: Steering wheel ideas
Good day!
Y'all have some very nice wheels! I'm fond of the early factory style. Here's my reproduction wheel and horn assembly from Dennis Carpenter.

I have manual steering, so the large wheel is a good idea for my truck!

Re: Steering wheel ideas
I wonder if a wheel from say an old Farimount or Falcon, or a car like that, maybe late 60's early 70's would work in our trucks?

Re: Steering wheel ideas
I really like the big three spoke factory wheel on my 70'. It was in bad shape when I got the truck, cracked and
coming apart real bad. Missing and broken horn parts also. Thankfully the horn ring had been zip tied to the wheel.
I thought I was going to have to replace it but tried JB Weld and painted it and it's held together fine.
Bought some new horn parts and a lace up cover and it looks good.

Re: Steering wheel ideas
Here is a picture of the '79 XLT tilt column, and steering wheel with cruise control.
BTW: I just saw in the Dennis Carpenter catalog, that they now sell the '78 style horn center with cruise control.
It's a bit spendy at $200.00 but at least there is the option.

Re: Steering wheel ideas
It's kind of a shame to put this picture right after 'Happy_Camper's' but does this count? Sorry, it's not very clear and there's not much to see but that was then. It's just a scanned picture but it is from my truck.
