I brought back a project '71 Ford F-100 302 3 speed manual a few weeks ago. Most of the exterior lights weren't working (bulbs, grounds, and sockets needed fixed). I got them all, except the turn signals. When I hit the left turn signal, both the rear left and right come on. The front works fine. When I hit the right turn signal, nothing in the back comes on, the front works fine. The bulbs in the dash flash fine. The flasher is flashing the lights correctly (replaced flasher just in case). The emergency light flashes all 4 lights correctly. I probed the wiring pigtail coming out of the steering column. When I hit the left turn signal, 3 wires light up and blink. When I hit the right turn signal, 2 wires light up and blink.
Am I chasing a turn signal switch? Any other way to test this? The column was swapped at some point and the TS cancelling cam doesn't work either. That leads me to believe the problem is in the column.....

Re: '71 Turn Signal Issue
it does sound like a crossed circut somewhere. maybe in the wiring or even in the tss. use a test light to see if you have one wire that is sending out power to the turn signals or two wires. to see which wire is for which operation you can check the wiring diagrams on the site.
