Can someone tell me where the power wire of a 67 radio plugs in to? The radio I got has the fuse holder but the end is cut off and I am having trouble trying to figure out where it gets its power from.
Thanks,
Bob

Re: 67 Factory radio power wire
in the 68-72 trucks the power wire goes into a three pronged plug behind the drivers side instrument cluster. the power wire fo rthe radio is going to be one loose socket type wire in about the same place i think. it is probably black. i think it wil be the plug on wire 16 to the brake warning light. since it is the only open socket in the diagrams fo rignition switched power. http://www.fordification.com/tech/wirin ... ghts02.jpg

Thanks for the response. I checked my wiring harness and found that the resister wire plugs into that female end between wire 16 and wire 460 going to the brake warning light.

Re: 67 Factory radio power wire
I think I figured it out. I was looking at some of the hacked up wiring harnesses I have and found a black wire that had an end that would fit over a stud with a nut and it had a black grommet like ring around the wire just like the cut power wire coming out of the radio I just got. The radio power wire must go to the stud sticking out the back of the ignition switch.

the 16 wire comes out of the side of the black plastic ignition switch plug. the stud is main power into the switch and will keep the radio playing after you shut off the truck.

Re: 67 Factory radio power wire
I just checked with a test light clamped on the stud and the only time the light burns is when the switch is in the on position or the acc. position. The light goes out in the off position.
