My lower seat frame is sagged out on the drivers side. My chiropractor thinks this is a good thing. My back doesn't. Do any of the after market companies sell a new lower seat frame assembly?

Re: lower seat assembly
not that i know of. i think they only sell the rebuild kits . http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/fb/t.aspx?Page=34
i have found that the seat backs in these trucks just arent as good as the seat backs in the newer trucks though. but that doesnt help with your problem. if your seat is inneed of recovering. i would look at just replacing the whole seat from a newer truck.

Fordman,
thanks for the advice but we're not there yet. The seat back is fine but the lower spring set is shot only under the driver. The upholstery is like new. I really hate the idea of a non original seat as my truck has only 20,000 actual and the seat bottom is about the only flaw. So, any more ideas anyone?

Re: lower seat assembly
When I took the upholstery off of my soft seat I found that one of the coil springs broke. That's a huge part as to why it is soft. The other is the long wavy springs. What the rebuild kits have for that is a bar that sits through the wavy springs to spread the weight. I haven't put my seat back together yet, one of our gracious members has offered to send me some coil springs to replace the broken one, so I can't say for sure whether it works yet. But hopefully I'll know soon!

It's for my twin boys, sure they're only 3 right now, but it's all for them! Well, and my twin girls. They're not even 1 yet, but when they are I'll have a pit crew!

Re: lower seat assembly
i wondered what those rods were for in the kits. i wonder if the could get some wavy springs out of a house chair. maybe a uplostry shop would have both the coil springs and the wavy springs.

OK, now that's an idea. We had the seat out and inspected it from the bottom, tied some springs together and stuffed some extra foam rubber from the bottom. Helped but nowhere near good enough. Tilted pelvis and backache after 50 miles. I do drive this truck. I bought it 3 years ago with 12,500 miles on it.
