I used the Volvo adapter, along with the metal cage that came with my radio, and found that I had to take a Dremel tool and cut out the entire indented area in my dash for the radio to go in. I removed the ears from the Volvo adapter, and drilled two holes in the top edge to secure it to my dash.
Apparently all 67 dashes were not made the same in the radio hole area. ? However, I am delighted with the results.

Nice job. I've been considering something like this for my 72, but might just build a stand along box system that sits on the hump to keep the AM original. All I got to listen to when I roll down the road is my right side manifold gasket leak and the radio just whistles.
This great song mentioning a flatbed Ford was released on May 1, 1972, the band’s first single. 72 was a good year, ah yes.
Unfortunately, the ladies above are not my girlfriends.
I hear you brother, my 1980's AM-FM Cassette had a broken antenna and I have a passenger side exhaust leak at the ex. manifold. I am ready for some tunes.
Small world.

You wouldn't happen to have the part number of that install kit you used would you?
