Starting Problems-Makes weird clicking noises
hello all. I have been having issues lately with starting my truck and tried figuring out the problem but i am clueless. When i put a charger onto the battery and set it a bit on the higher side (about 40A) and i try starting it makes a weird sound coming from this little box like thing that is bolted onto the rad support (not sure what its called). I followed the wires on it and its connected to the starter relay.. my only ideas are that the battery is toast or my relay is shot. Any help would be much appreciated cuz like i said before, i am clueless

yes it is either a low or bad battery a bad starter relay. or it could be bad or loose connection to the battery or relay.

Re: Starting Problems-Makes weird clicking noises
I charged it on low over the night and will try it later onto see if it starts. Yesterday evening I tried swapping the starter relay and the regulator from another truck i have and that didn't seem to help anything. I'm thinking that it is the battery thats causing these problems but i don't want to go put $70-$90 into one to find out its not the problem. Thanks for your advice

Have battery load tested. Check and clean battery cables. Replace cables or battery as needed. Sounds like bad battery. You can try substituting another battery to see if the problem goes away.

Autozune/oriellys/discouunt will load test it for free, maybe charge it before you take it though.

There is no Autozune/oriellys/discouunt close to where i live. Would any mechanic shop be able to do it? I think i will try putting in the battery from my car because i know that one will not have any issues and see if that solves the problem.basketcase0302 wrote:Have battery load tested. places that sell batteries should be able to check your old battery.
