Re: radio problems
Ok. I found the condensor for the voltage regulator. How do you test the condensor?

Re: radio problems
if the radio has a whine to it when the engine is reving and the condesor is hooked up and grounded then the condensor is bad. if it is static or another moaning type of sound the problem is in the radio.

Re: radio problems
I checked at the local parts store and they only have the condensors that go in the distributor. Is it the same thing? I know the connector is different. The condensor at the regulator has a pig tail connection.

Re: radio problems
if I replace the voltage regulator do I need to replace the condensor? I saw a post that said if I replace the voltage regulator with a solid state unit it would eliminate the need for a condensor at the regulator. is that correct? The regulator needs replaced. It is charging at 16volts

Re: radio problems
16 is too much. i read that the mechanical regulators can be adjusted to the voltages it outputs. i have no idea how to do it.

Re: radio problems
So, if I replace the old voltage regulator with a new unit, do I need to replace the condensor?
