Keeps blowing a fuse
Well, I tried searching diagrams, and a couple of hours working on the truck, but I'm ready to admit I could use some help. I just replaced the TSS in my column because the old one was pretty well shot, and I rewired the plug, and am little confused as to what does what. Oh the truck is a 71 F250 CS if that makes much difference. I found lots of diagrams in the TECH section for 70 and 72 but no 71, so I'm not sure that I'm doing things right. Anyway, after I got the thing all back together, I keep loosing the turn signal fuse when I try to make the left blinker work, the right one works ok. also, when I turn on my running lamps, my right turn indicator on the dash lights up solid. I have no idea what's wrong here, everything looks ok, checked my grounds, and have a mostly intact original harness. So if anyone could help that'd be awesome.

The first thing I would check would be your wiring of the connector. Make sure the wires go to the right pin hole.

Re: Keeps blowing a fuse
Hmm, that is interesting because in the TSS that I got there is no orange and Blue wire or Green and orange wire. I have a yellow and black one and a solid green one where Thunderfoot's diagram indicates Orange/Blue and Green/Orange. So I color matched them to the opposite side of the plug, which was factory correct. Looks like I'll have to trace wires from the TSS and determine what's what.

yea not all switches are made with the correct color wires. so you have to guess and then change them to work properly.

Re: Keeps blowing a fuse
Well i got it figured out. It turns out that all I had to do was match the colors in the column wires to those in the factory plug, it was just a little different from the diagram. I also had to replace the flasher can I bought, seeing as it was a heavy duty one and was causing half of the problems I was having. Now everything works like it should, and I just got to get a rear bumper and then plates and the truck will be street legal again! Would you believe that all of the flashers at my local Napa were he heavy duty type, and the parts guys had no idea that there was such thing as a standard flasher can?! This is the first time Autozone had better parts/knowledge than Napa! Seems like they need to hire guys who have actually worked on a truck/car before instead of people who are good at finding parts numbers...
