Re: Ignition switch removal?
The outer bezel of the ignition switch holds it in the dash. You'll see it has 3 small slots, and there is a special tool that inserts into those 3 small slot to unscrew the bezel. However, I've never owned one of those special tools; I just use a screw driver to push the bezel counter clockwise which will unscrew the bezel.

Re: Ignition switch removal?
Awesome.. It came right out
unfortunately I now see I ripped up the wires in the back something fierce.. They're not use able.. So now I have to source out another ignition.
*sigh* I think it may be simpler for me to just use my 87's column.

How did you manage to do that...?Spectre wrote:unfortunately I now see I ripped up the wires in the back something fierce.. They're not use able.. So now I have to source out another ignition.
Why change columns because you messed the ignition switch wiring, to use the column mounted ignition switch? That can be made to work but an 87 column is not my any means a direct bolt in. It's not really any of my business but just curious. Tell us a bit more about your truck and what exctly happened to the wiring maybe someone around here can help you somehow.Spectre wrote:I think it may be simpler for me to just use my 87's column.

Re: Ignition switch removal?
Sorry for not responding..
Long story short.. I took at 69 F250 body and put it on a 87 bronco frame. I'm using the 69's column because of the NSS and gear selector indicator.. That and i wanted to use the 69's ignition..
I have since got it all to work the way I wanted it..
My truck? heh.. If you have some time to read and like pictures http://fordification.com/forum/viewtopi ... 22&t=50700ForingaMex wrote:How did you manage to do that...?
I was removing the under dash harness and yanked to hard and pulled the wires out of the back of the ignition plug
