1967 dashboard

Post by element7878 »

Hey guys i was just wondering about the stock dashboard in our trucks. when i bought mine it was missing the dashpad and is just painted black. My question is what are the holes in the dash for? It has a square to the left and then a bunch of small circles in the center, and then another square to the right...i was assuming that the two squares were for small speakers and i didnt know what the center was for...Im kinda guessing now from the website that the two squares are suppose to be vents and the center with all the holes had a speaker somewhere underneath? If there is suppose to be a speaker in the center what held it underneath the dash? so is it suppose to be a 6x9 in the center or two small like 3-4 inch speakers in the squares. my truck doesnt have defrost or ac in it. guess it was removed

the little holes all over the dash are for the dash pad bolts. the two small square holes in the center top are for the defronst duct tubes . the center of the dash and those small holes all together are for the spekaer under the dash and the soudn to escape from.

a bracket that clipped into another bracket under the dash and then botled to the dash under the radio bezel. i don't have any pictures of those rbackets but i have quite a few of the brackets layign around here. no one uses them becasue no one ever replaces those speakers.
