arent the slicks a different wiring harness depending on what you have as far as genrator and type of engine also? as far as vendros here are a few i can think of painless ron francis lmc truck has some. ezwiring and there are others i am sure. i just cant remember thier names.

Not sure what you mean when you say "slick", but I'm certain you are right about the generator/alternator thing. I'll have to look in my service manual to see what my truck came with, thats how the wiring got all cobbled up when the PO put the 1980 300 in. Nothing is ever easy!!!!!

Unless you're looking for a restoration build I'd just roll your own wiring, that's what I plan to do to my truck. The 1960s and 70s era wiring kinda sucked. The connectors were a bit lame and they never used convoluted tubing and the like to keep the wires (particular the ignition wire) off of heat.

I also plan on building my own harness. Factory wiring on any vehicle I've ever delt with has always been sub-par, even on modern vehicles

Yeah, it can be bad on modern vehicles, particularly things like headlamp harnesses and the like. I'm just glad they finally figured out how to make weather tight connectors and that it would be a good idea to keep wires away from hot stuff.papabug71 wrote:
