Glove Box RANGER Emblem
Trying to figure out how to attach the RANGER emblem to the glove box door. The emblem came with 2 small square clips but the pins in the emblem are too short and the diamenter too small to reach through the glove box door holes to make the clips useful. Am I missing some sort of fastener or are there any tricks to get this re-attached to the glove box door?

the glove box doors are made with a indentation to mount the emblems. others without the indentation you may not be able to mount the emblem because of the pin length. do you have a picture of these clips? most of them are nuts and not clips.

My glove box door has 3 holes that corespond to the 3 pins or posts. The holes are through a double wall in the door. The pin/posts make it through the outside wall but not quite through the indoor wall where I would expect the clips/nuts to attach. I'll take pictures later and post.

Re: Glove Box RANGER Emblem
Here you go. Not that it matters - I managed to get it on there. Not my best work but it will pass. The clips hold the emblem on fine if you only have a single wall glove box door. The problem is that the glove box door holes pass through a double wall and you can't get the clip through the the outside wall to hold on the emblem. So I carefully drilled a larger hole in the inside wall and managed to get one clip in throught the first hole and it held the emblem just fine. Then I dropped the second clip into the space between the two walls and couldn't retrieve it. This is where things got messy. Maybe it was the heat or my lack of patience or a combination but I decided to use Gorillia glue to hold the pin w/o the clip. Not the best choice since too much of this stuff and it takes forever to dry. So I sat there with Q-tips sopping up Gorillia glue until it dried and I could bond the emblem to the glove box wall. It eventually dried and turned out with minimal glue showing along the edges. Live and learn:)
I'll try and remember to take and upload pics of the final product.

Re: Glove Box RANGER Emblem
i see the problem. the dorr is not originally a emblem door. someone has drilled it to put an emblem on it. i dont know if i still have picutres but there are two recesses in the glove box door for the emblem doors. let me see if i can find one on ebay and show you the difference.

Re: Glove Box RANGER Emblem
well i may be wrong about the recess. i will get a picture of my 67 glove box tomoorow and post it tomorrow night. late. i know when i was tryign to sell glove box doors i figured out that the emblem could only be installed on door with the recess to them. i thought it was a doulbe recess but i might be wrong. i did measure the posts on a original emblem. the peg is 3/4 of an inch long. EDIT: the casting number of this ranger emblem is C5GB-16098-A
