E-Brake Light

My e-brake light is working, but too much, its on as soon as i turn the key on no matter if the brake is on or not, any suggestions?
These trucks are SICK!!

that is a light tellign you the the valve on the brakes is not centered.. most of the time its just stuck and takes a bit of work to recenter. or maybe possible that you have a leak and that you need to service the brakes.
I don't really care about brands Chevy Ford Dodge ...as long as it doesn't sound like two old dudes farting in a coffee can.

The light is an indicator that there is an imbalance in line pressure front/rear. It isint an E brake light as these era trucks didnt have one :thup: It basically means something is wrong with your brakes.

Try bleeding the brakes at all 4 corners. If that doesnt clear it up, then like SteveC said, the switch might be stuck and/or in need of replacement. The switch is located in the distribution block on the drivers side framerail, right under the steering column or so.

when you turn the ignition on the light should come on. but go off after the truck starts. if it doesnt go off then like as was said above the brakes have a imbalance in the hydralic brake fluid system.
